Australia’s trade deficit narrowed from last month’s all time record of $3.89bn to $2.21bn. It was worse than forecast and remains well above recent trend. Imports dropped 4% and exports climbed 1%. This supports Glenn Stevens’ assertion that we have weak terms of trade with the AUD uncomfortably high. AUDUSD lost 0.22%

  • The Euro Dollar was best performer yesterday despite the turmoil that went on in its financial markets. It gained 1.5% against the Australian dollar. Commentators and market analysts are at a loss as to why this occurred. There doesn’t appear to be a logical reason. Sometimes S…. happens.

 

  • Chinese stock markets fell despite monetary easing measures to curb recent volatility. The main index lost 3.3% yesterday taking its decline of the past few weeks past 20%. Global stock market falls saw funds go from stocks to bonds. With Australia’s bonds the most attractive in terms of yield and safety the AUD gained 1% yesterday.

 

  • Iron ore fell 0.3% but remained above $60 a ton. Capital Economics, a research company, said yesterday that the commodity should fall as low as $40 a ton this year and close out at $45. This comes despite an interest rate cut in China over the weekend.

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand cited weakening inflation, consumer demand and milk prices in cutting interest rates by 0.25%. The action meant the AUDNZD rate leapt 3% to a  7 month high. It was their first rate reduction since 2011. RBNZ Governor Wheeler said further cuts will be appropriate.

The USD was heavily sold in Thursdays session after the Feds meeting giving the AUD its biggest one day rise in over 2 years, this now seems like a massive over reaction and a correction taking he USD back to the top of the currency pile has seen the AUD/USD fall 200 points from its peak. What are MMA Mats?

Are EVA mats and Rubber mats the same?

 

Stictly speaking rubber mats and EVA mats are not exactly the same. Although EVA jigsaw mats are often referred to as rubber mats as they have a similar finish and are both derived from synthetic rubber. EVA mats are made from EVA which is an elastomeric polymer that produces a materials which is rubber-like in softness and flexibility. EVA foam is also used as padding in equipment for various other sports and applications
