Conor McGregor Exercice Mats

Conor McGregor To Fight Dustin Poirier in UFC

Conor McGregor has announce via Twitter hat he has accepted a  fight against Dustin Poirier. It is to take place on January 23rd at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The location of the fight is close to Poirier’s home territory which will make for an interesting fight. It is sure to be an interesting and competitive MMA fight to see.

Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since his TKO victory over fellow MMA fighter Donald Cerrone. That fight was in January of this year. Conor was hoping to find himself on the mat three times this year but the Wuhan corona virus intervened. It put a halt to a lot of UFC fights. His so-called feud with Dana White hasn’t helped his cause either although the UFC would be keen to see him back in the ring. Despite his antics McGregor is still a major draw card for the UFC promotion.

Getting Back To Training

Now if will be up to McGregor to get back on the exercise mats and get himself fit for the fight. It is not easy fighting in the UFC with so many variables so it is important that he is in his peak fitness. One way to do that is to train hard. If he is to train hard then he needs to do whatever necessary to make sure he doesn’t get injured. One of the ways he can do that is by training on good quality exercise mats such as good jigsaw mat or tatami mats. It is what good athletes do and there is no question that McGregor is a great athlete.

UFC is The Premier Competition

The UFC is the premier MMA fighting organisation in the world. Many of the greatest fighters are signed to the UFC and can only fight exclusively with the organisations. Whilst there are other well known MMA organisations out there none has the same economic clout. It is a well know fact that UFC fighters use exercise mats during their training. If they use them then logic stands that all aspiring MMA fighters should be using them in their routines also. That is without question.

Daniel Cornier Rematch With Stipe Miocic

Daniel Cornier Rematch With Stipe Miocic

Daniel Cornier and Stipe Miocic rematch to take place at Honda Centre in Anaheim California on the 18th of August. The fight has been a long time in the making and follows Cornier’s knock out victory over Miocic. Stipe Miocic has been calling for the rematch for some time now as he has waited to avenge his loss of the heavyweight title after defending it for a record three consecutive times.

Miocic has said that he has spent a lot of time on jigsaw mats preparing for this event. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work on MMA mats to prepare for a fight like this. His training would have included a lot of grappling to counter Cornier’s experience in that field but also stand up boxing and kickboxing. Miocic would be more than aware of the importance of this fight as he tries to regain the title that he lost and cement his legacy in the UFC.

Daniel Cornier would have also spend a large amount of time training on jigsaw mats at his MMA gym. Cornier is nearing the end of his career. Another victory against the legendary Miocic would see him elevated to GOAT status, a field occupied by only a handful of UFC fighters.

The Daniel Cornier Rematch With Stipe Miocic is bound to be a great fight.

Stipe Miocic to Fight Daniel Cornier Again

Stipe Miocic to Fight Daniel Cornier Again. The UFC has finalised a heavyweight title matchup between Daniel Cormier and former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic for a pay-per-view event on Aug. 17, in Anaheim, California. The fight will be the first time the pair have fought since their last fight which saw Cornier take the title off Miocic. Stipe announced that “I’m ready, I’ve been ready. And I’m going to take back what’s mine”, meaning the belt he lost to Cornier.

Cornier had originally been slated to fight Brock Lesnar in a title fight but Lesnar announcing his retirement put a stop to that line-up. Brock will likely continue his WWE career on the wrestling mat rather than risk it in the Octagon. It is probably a good idea as a loss in MMA is much more devastating than in “rocking roll” wrestling which sees champions recycled and reused on a regular basis (my opinion only).

The Stipe Miocic v Daniel Cornier fight should be an interesting bout. Stipe will surely spend a lot of time training on jigsaw mats or MMA mats before the bout as he will want to regain the title he defended a record 3 times before his loss. For Cornier a win will mean maintaining a near perfect record with the only loss in his career coming against living legend Jon Jones. What ever happens it will be an excellent fight.

Conor McGegor in Trouble Over Alleged Assault

UFC champion and boxer Conor McGregor is in trouble over and apparent assault of a bus and fellow UFC fighters. News outlets first reported the incident at a Brooklyn Hotel last week where Conor and some other guys are accused of the attach. The incident must of be serious because McGregor later appeared in court over the incident. The UFC representative also expressed concern over the incident.

It is now questionable when Conor will return to the UFC. Apparently he had been negotiating a return to the MMA mats. What is sure is that he will need to spend more time training on him wrestling mats. It is certain to be of concern as one would have thought that he would be eager to return to the Octagon to make some more money. This delay and any court case is sure to be a costly exercise.

I guess the lesson to be learn here is that it is much better to spend your time on the training foam mats then it is mucking around with your friends. None the less he will certainly learn from his mistakes as he is presumably an adult with the capacity to learn.

Anyway we are all awaiting the conclusion of this fiasco as it will be interesting to see if Conor gets convicted (which could seriously effect his career) and whether the people he allegedly injured take him to the cleaner. With reports he make $100 Million from his fight with Mayweather he certainly has a lot to lose.

Cage Fighting Ban repealed for Victoria

State government officials of Victoria, Australia, announced today the dissolution of a ban that had long prevented mixed martial arts contests from taking place in a fenced-in area.

The UFC, which promotes fights in its signature Octagon cages, immediately confirmed a long-rumored UFC 193 pay-per-view event to be held Nov. 15 in Melbourne, the capital city of Victoria. Due to time differences, the event will air on Nov. 14 in the United States.

Prior to the ban’s being lifted, all MMA contests in the southeastern Australian state were forced to take place in a boxing ring.
