Conor McGregor Loses To Dustin Poirier Again

Conor McGregor lost to Dustin Poirier again via TKO due to a leg injury. Conor injured his lower tibia after crashing to the floor. He could have done with some  crash mats as it was a heavy fall which saw his leg bend in a horrific position. Fortunate the referee Herb Dean called the lightweight bout after seeing that McGregor was injured.

Even though it was a horrific injury is seems as it the surgery went well according to sources. Dana White has indicated that there is room for a fourth fight between the pair. If that is the case then they will both need to get back onto their puzzle mats and resume training. Conor will especially need to put in a lot of effort on his puzzle mats as he may need to rehabilitate his injured leg. I am sure the doctors have it under control.

One thing is certain is that the fight demonstrated the benefit of having crash mats. They definitely cushion the fall and would have been a great help in this situation. Maybe the UFC will consider having future fight with a ring covered with crash mats. Stranger things have happened. Conor McGregor surely would have benefitted.

Conor McGregor to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 264

Conor McGregor is set to fight Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The fight will mark the third time the two have fought one another. It will be their trilogy fight which is always an exciting event to watch. Although the fight will not be a title fight it is sure to attract a lot of interest from fans.

So far the score is 1-1 between the men. I am sure they have spent hours on their puzzle mats working out and getting ready for this fight. Everyone knows that when you are getting ready for a fight of this magnitude that you need some good quality puzzle mats to get you over the line.

Even though this UFC 264 bout is not a title fight I am sure it will be an exciting one. Both men are seasoned professionals who leave nothing on the mat. That is the test of a true champion in my opinion. You have to go all or nothing and these two fighters certainly follow that philosophy.

Whilst I say that puzzle mats are the way to go when it comes to preparing for a title fight like this one there is also the option of tatami mats. Luckily in Australia when have both options when it comes to hardcore training.
